Micke Buitendag is an emerging artist from Cape Town, South Africa, who taught herself the beauty of creating art. She prefers not to limit herself and is always experimenting with subject matter and mediums as the creativity flows within her.

Her painting style is a form of contemporary art with a dash of abstract through the medium of acrylic and mixed media.

Apart from her original artworks, Micke creates custom made/commissioned art with her own twist. A painting is not merely just a canvas with some strokes of paint on it. It is an artists personal feelings, thoughts, and therapeutic imagination, a physical presentation of the mind inspired by the clients request. How beautiful it is that we can create a masterpiece from two minds.

As Micke is on her own self journey as an artist, she aims to bring about emotion and the never-ending discussion of diversity in her paintings, while finding her own groove. Art formed part of her reflection time and a use of therapy, which has now become a chosen career path.

Micke Buitendag graduated with a BCom degree at University of Pretoria and has a much bigger vision for her brand and hopes to grow The Art of Micke into a successful business that will not only be about paintings but collaborations with other companies to expand into merchandise, charity work, marketing and so forth.

Micke currently has art pieces in South Africa, Australia, Norway & London.
